Wolfe Field

The Wolfe Field Baseball Stadium project is a $2.4 million cooperative undertaking between The College of Idaho and the City of Caldwell.

This premier baseball facility, located north of Cleveland Blvd. on Linden St., is home to The College of Idaho Coyote baseball team as well as both the Silverstreaks and Bobcats, Caldwell’s two American Legion baseball squads. Additionally, upon completion of the project, it is anticipated that National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), American Legion, Idaho High School and many youth baseball regular-season and post-season tournaments will be hosted at this location.

The Wolfe Field Baseball Stadium design ensures it will be one of the finest baseball stadiums throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Taking into account the demands of an early spring collegiate baseball season, Wolfe Field is comprised of an artificial surface infield and a natural grass outfield. Wolfe Field features a unique and intimate design to create its distinctive atmosphere and maximize the experience of players and spectators alike. In April of 2015, the newly constructed stadium seats (over 1,000 individual purple seats) were dedicated.

The next phase of the stadium project is construction of the press box, concession stand, courtyard, entryway and restrooms. The courtyard area will feature a fully landscaped entry that leads to a baseball diamond-shaped area to display commemorative bricks. Two sizes of bricks, 4 x 8 and 8 x 8 can be purchased by following the link on this page. The courtyard will also have an area to recognize those donors who have made this project possible.

Future additions to the Wolfe Field stadium project include a batting facility and storage area, as well as first-class lighting to assist the City of Caldwell in attracting numerous tournaments.

After several years of preliminary discussion, the project began in the fall of 2008 upon a donation of land by the City. The initial phase, costing nearly $800,000, included the playing field, dugouts, backstop and screen, batters’ eye, electricity, scoreboard and outfield fence.

A gift to Wolfe Field will support the capital account that funds future expansion and beautification of the stadium.
